Landscaper

Landscaper / Exterior Operations Positions (part or full time)

 

Job Description

The Landscaper/Gardener is responsible for completing landscape projects at our portfolio of rental homes, with business-minded efficiency, effective communication with homeowners, and ensuring our Company standards are consistently met.  



Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ability to interact with homeowners professionally and effectively in order to help ensure accurate job scope and customer satisfaction 
  • Knowledge of perennials and shrubs preferred, planting, pruning, etc. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: watering plants, deadheading, planting, pruning, weeding, edging, mulching etc. 
  • Experience with edging, weeding, pruning, and mulching

 

Prior Experience

 

  • Horticulture: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Gardening: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Landscape maintenance: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Mowing: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Portuguese speaking (bonus)
  • Irrigation installation and maintenance experience (bonus)
  • Pesticide/fertilizer license (bonus)

 

Job Details

 

  • Full time/Year-round
  • Hourly Compensation (commensurate with skill and experience)
  • Benefits to include Health Insurance, 401K with Employer Match, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays
  • Overtime available in the summer months

Job Description

Are you an experienced and extremely organized controller? Are you a high performing senior accounting professional with strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills?  If you enjoy driving processes and leading by example, we are the high growth, high energy organization you’ve been looking for.

The Controller we are looking for would be able to look across our organization to find efficiencies, identify gaps, risk areas, and  “bridge the gap” between our financial operations and the high-level strategy that the CEO and VP of Finance are focused on. 

This person will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the financial records and reports for our portfolio of over 380 vacation homes across Cape Cod.  Your demonstrated accounting expertise and organizational skills will support and enhance a high performing Finance organization..

Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our VP of Finance, Director of Financial Operations, and Accountant to ensure that Del Mar scales responsibly with the right systems, controls and audit preparedness
  • Establish cash controls to limit fraud and error in employee or vendor transactions
  • Create spend reports to monitor spend and provide VP Finance and CEO visibility to spending trends and potential for improvements
  • Leverage Quickbooks Online to its fullest potential for a business of our size
  • Learn and utilize a variety of technological platforms to track and compute financial information  (Streamline, Zuper, Hubspot, ApprovalMax, and Check Run, and Divvy)
  • Oversee Accounts Payables / Receivables
  • Lead month and year end closing activities
  • Own the financial data and reporting across the organization
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure financial controls include all business units
  • File and pay taxes; Own all business-related tax documents and forms
  • Reviews, evaluates, and implements accounting systems, policies, and procedures

Desired skills/traits/competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA preferred
  • Minimum 2 years experience utilizing QBO (Quickbooks Online) within a similarly-sized organization
  • Public/Private company experience
  • Financial Statement preparation, technical accounting, and revenue recognition experience
  • Organized and capable of prioritizing and multitasking
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Able to perform effectively in a high paced, dynamic environment
  • Prefers a hands-on role and enjoys wearing multiple hats

  • Candidates within commuting distance to our office in Orleans, MA preferred, but we will offer remote flexibility for the right candidate
